Wednesday; "Gone With The Wind"...

I just want to mention something here, in case you're not already aware of it. I want to mention the extraordinary craftsmanship that's demonstrated by Margaret Mitchell in Gone With The Wind</>. The density of it, and the way everything in it is woven together; the immediacy of it. It's truly remarkable, and I wish I could write that way. It's exactly what I want for Alien Tongues. Mitchell puts you right in the middle of her fictional universe, and is able to keep you there. I know the book is considered a pot-boiler, but I most sincerely wish I could write a post-boiler like that.

Happy Birthday!
LiveJournal reminds me that today is Suzette's birthday. I miss her presence here and hope she's happy.
Happy Birthday, Suzette! I think of you often, and miss your wisdom.
Joining the crowd to express my remembrance and appreciation of ozarque.
Happy (belated) Birthday, Suzette! I came back here today to reference once again your marvelous works, GAVSD, and the Ozarque Cows entry here in LJ. LJ reminded me that you'd had a birthday recently. I don't know if you'll ever read or hear my words, but I wanted to offer once again my gratitude for all you shared of yourself in your life. You changed my life, and your words continue to change lives through my sharing them. Thank you.
I just vgifted another year's Paid Account fee to Ozarque.

"Your transaction ID for this payment is: 5TD89651HX886424C."

So much wonderful material here, especially about the Ozark language!
Thank you. The material here is wonderful, both ozarque's as well as the comments.
thinking of you with gratitude and sending blessings your way. happy earthiversary, suzette.
Happy Birthday! I hope you are well.
Happy Belated Birthday, Ozarque. You share the day with my own husband who turned 63. :)

I hope you had a calm and pleasant day.

So sad to hear the news.

May she rest in peace and be remembered well; may those who loved her be comforted.

I just gifted another year to her paid account. I've been doing this for several years and plan to keep on. The entries and discussions on Ozark English etc are wonderful.

I'd be happy to undertake routine maintenance on the account -- if someone can contact her family and set it up.

If that email does not get a reply, try 1950democrat@ g m a i l . c o.m .
Sad news indeed.

You may want to look into this approach:

if this is turned into a "memorial" account by LJ there would be no need for you to continue paying for it. It doesn't look like the family would need to be involved, just an email to LJ perhaps with a link to her obituary.

Just heard of your passing this morning.

I am so terribly sorry that you have gone, and yet I am glad you are no longer in the mental anguish that your illness must have been in the last years. I will always remember our conversation about odds ratios (and hope that I didn't frustrate you too much!).

You have taught me so much through your blogging and your writing.

May your memory be for a blessing.

So sad. A double bereavement for us: first the cessation of posting here and now this. Condolences to ozarque's family and friends.

Please, please maintain this blog as a memorial. It's still valuable; I'm still citing posts, links, and comments here regularly.

Alas, I heard only today of Suzette's release to her next life.
I'm sad for we who are left, particularly for her family and husband - deep condolences there.
I see Suzette walking light and leisurely through the sunlit uplands, speaking with all creatures in their tongues, sparkling with the pleasure of communication.
Bless you, gracious lady.
