ozarque figure

Holiday poetry being made, in public; final draft...

Thanks to your [yourall's] help and generosity, this poem works for me now; I'm satisfied with this final draft.

"Fear Not!"

Dark shrouds the world.
Storm clouds spell out DELUGE.
The bitter seas are curled,
tightly.

Celebration is separate from our thinking.
We are holding our breath,
braced for the next misfortune.
The next falling.
The next burning.
The next sinking.

We are heavy with
dreads that have no due date.
Plagued by birth-pangs,
we are becoming one people,
and it hurts.
We are torn with fear.

The surf croons at us.
"Doom..." it tells us, and again, "Doom..."
"Hushhhh... " And then, "Doom..."

But suddenly we hear,
far out over the curve of the earth,
under one brilliant star,
the angels singing,
"Fear not!"
Ringing out over the seas...
"Fear not!"
