Personal note; posting on the Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense [GAVSD]...

Enough people have said that they'd like to see regular GAVSD posts in this journal to convince me that the interest in having that happen is real, and I'm willing to try. Here's what I propose to do -- subject, as always, to negotiation and revision if I've misunderstood you and/or if you have objections.

1. I need to finish the work for my fanged-and-horned-and-tentacled Huge-Emergency-Rush-Project before I start doing the GAVSD posts. For two reasons: (a) The HERP takes up a great deal of my time; and (b) the way it takes up my time makes me cross in a fashion that's totally incompatible with the GAVSD principles. I don't want to inflict posts on you that have been written when I'm both exhausted and cross. I should be all done with the HERP by the end of November. My plan, therefore, is to do the first GAVSD post on December 5th, and to follow up on the first Friday of every month thereafter for as long as I'm able or until you ask me to stop. That way, those of you who are interested will know when to expect the GAVSD posts, and those of you who aren't interested will know how to avoid them.

2. Sometime before December 5th, I'll post a directory -- with links -- for all the GAVSD posts that have appeared in this LJ up to now. And between now and December 5th, if you have any questions that you're particularly interested in seeing answered in the posts, I'd be pleased if you'd send them to my LJ inbox. Plus, I'll go to my file of unanswered comments and retrieve any GAVSD questions that are in that file.

3. Finally, I'd like to explain why I don't just set up a GAVSD community instead. It's not because I'm opposed to the idea. It's because it wouldn't be fair for me to do that and not participate actively, and my work schedule is so crowded that there's just no room in it anywhere for more than one blog.

If this doesn't sound workable, just let me know...
