Personal note; politics...

I'm not looking forward to tonight's VP debate.... I'll be glad when it's over.

I keep remembering the strategy Ronald Reagan used so often -- the one where he pretended to be utterly clueless, over and over again, and then came roaring out of the pretense with killer lines and killer rhetoric.

He was very, very good at that, and people were like Charlie Brown [in Peanuts] up against Lucy and that football; no matter how many times he did it, people kept falling for it. [And the fact that at the end of his life he had Alzheimer's is ironic, but otherwise irrelevant.]

Suppose that turns out to be what Sarah Palin's been up to in all those recent interviews?
