Two filksongs....

Star-Anchored, Star-Angered
[Tune: "Go From My Window"]

Star-anchored, star-angered, join the dance!
Let your terms be redefined;
for the solemn circle ends
where the joyous one begins,
in the dance of the loving mind.

Look for the spaces in endless time;
never believe they aren't there.
Lay your preconceptions down,
see the figures in the ground;
walk the paths of the empty air.

Lend us your mindtips; perceive us well;
let us pass through that high wall....
For the stones are only lace,
lace of time and lace of space;
there's no barrier there at all.

Back of your mind turns a spiral star --
crossroad, and anchor, and rose;
choose your paths by day and night
as your birthright, Child of Light,
and go dance where the spiral grows.

Star-anchored, star-angered, join the song!
Climb up the rigging of sky!
Where the golden meshes meet
underneath your climbing feet,
we will join you, and tell you why...

Troublesome's Song
[Tune: "As Sylvia Was Walking"]

Oh, I live up on Troublesome far beyond the rocky road's end,
and my life is devoted to wickedness and sin,
leaving little for you to do,
for I'm evil for all of you --
and I live behind a narrow window
where none can come in.

You're all puling babies clinging to your mother's skirts,
and you run to the Grannys for to ease every hurt!
And there's little for you to do,
for I'm evil for all of you;
while you gather roses and lilies,
my hands work your dirt.

You gave me a mountain, gave the mountain my name,
and I'm consecrated to your filth and your shame...
leaving little for you to do,
for I'm evil for all of you;
and I'm busy sunup to sunset
deserving all blame.

Well, I fancy you're satisfied with the service I provide,
for evil's no Mule for the cowardly to ride.
And I'm evil for all of you,
leaving little for you to do
but meditate upon your purity
and save your tender hides.

Oh, I live up on Troublesome far beyond the rocky road's end,
and my life is devoted to wickedness and sin,
leaving little for you to do,
for I'm evil for all of you...
and I live behind a narrow window
where none can come in.

Personal note....

I hope that all of you who provided responses to my question about how to get an LJ post to appear with indented paragraphs realize that -- if I were sufficiently wicked -- I could copy and paste all of your comments above into a single document, fool around with the line breaks a bit, and publish the result as an avant garde science fiction poem titled "Ask a Primitive Question...."
