Grisham's plot reminds me of the discussion at http://nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/archives/005850.html#005850 of corporate propaganda against our court system. I particularly draw your attention to sections 3 and 4 of the main post, which outline corporate attempts to block people from suing for redress of injustice, and comments 1, 2, 7, 10, 11, 19...okay, the whole comment thread.
