Conestoga schedule....
Here's my Conestoga schedule, for those of you who might be interested...

Friday
No programming, because after we get there in the afternoon George and I have to set up in the art show and the dealer's room, and by the time we're through doing that we are both totally useless. For the art show I'm taking original watercolor pencil drawings and pen-and-ink drawings and collages, some Ozarques, one crochainting [that's a crocheted picture], a small collage book, and some oddments. [There's a post about the Ozarques at http://ozarque.livejournal.com/4311.html , and one about collage books at http://ozarque.livejournal.com/175632.html?thread=2808336 .] In the dealer's room, George will have my books for sale, as well as signed/numbered limited edition prints of my drawings.

Saturday 10:00 AM
I'll be doing a Conestoga podcast interview [It's not a public interview, but the podcast will be on the Net after the con, and I'll post the link here when it's available.]

Saturday 11:00 AM
Panel: "Real Scientists -- Real Questions"

Saturday at noon
Reading from Twenty-One Novel Poems, plus Q&A

Saturday 4:00 PM
Panel: "What happens when you give it away?"
[This panel is not about what it sounds like it's about. Thank goodness.]

Saturday 6:00 PM
IF copies of Twenty-One Novel Poems reach me in time:
Book release event for authors with new books

Sunday 8:30 AM
"Breakfast with Suzette Haden Elgin"

Sunday 10:00 AM to noon
Workshop: Introduction to the Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense

Sunday 2:00 PM
Panel: "Academia and SF; what it has to teach us"

And although it doesn't show up on the list above, I'm sure I'll be signing books at some point.

=======
[Note: As is true for any convention, Things Might Happen and there would be a schedule change; that is the nature of conventions. As is true for any convention I go to, I will not be moderating anything.]

How come you don't ever moderate anything? You'd probably be better at it than most people. I've been doing it for, hm, about 12 years -- and studying the behavior of moderators who impress me all the while -- and while I think I can do a decent job, I know there's a lot of room for improvement. Heck, I'd probably come to a panel on tofu juggling just to observe your moderation style, if I were at that con.

"How come you don't ever moderate anything?"

It's because I want nothing to do with any sort of power trip, no matter how trivial, if it can possibly be avoided. Ever. There are times when it can't be avoided -- when you're parenting small children, for example; thank goodness I don't have to do that one any more.

Your husband is braver than mine. He used to talk about how much money I could make selling [used] books in the dealers' room. I asked him which days he was volunteering to sit [at] the table. Oddly enough, he quit talking about it after that. ;)

I hope y'all had a big time!
